ZRently Growth Update: 33,000 Users, 350 Properties, and What's Next

June 10, 2026

It's hard to believe, but ZRently has now been live since April 9th.

When we launched ZRently 2.0, we were seeing around 21,000 users per month. Today, we've grown to more than 33,000 users over the last 30 days, and we've recently seen days with nearly 3,000 users visiting the platform.

For a small bootstrapped team, that's exciting and honestly a little humbling.

First and foremost, thank you.

Whether you've searched for an apartment, sent us feedback, shared ZRently with a friend, or simply given the platform a chance, you've helped us get to where we are today.

Growing Our Rental Inventory

We currently have around 350 active rental listings on ZRently and are working hard to add more every week.

Over the next month, we expect a significant increase and are targeting roughly 1,000 rental listings across Southern California. Beyond that, we will continue expanding inventory and filling in areas that currently have limited coverage.

We're also preparing to expand into Orange County, the Inland Empire, and San Diego.

Our long-term goal is simple: when a renter searches for apartments, studios, condos, or homes for rent, they should be able to find them on ZRently with clear and searchable qualification requirements.

Why We Built ZRently

Most rental websites force renters to guess.

You find a property you like, pay an application fee, submit paperwork, wait days for a response, and sometimes find out you never qualified in the first place.

We think there should be a better way.

ZRently allows renters to search apartments by credit score requirements, income requirements, co-signer policies, pet policies, and flexibility ratings before they apply.

Our goal is to help renters understand whether a property may be a good fit before they spend time and money applying.

Searching for housing is already stressful enough. Renters deserve more transparency.

Improving Property Manager Response Rates

One topic we hear about regularly is response rates from landlords and property managers.

This is something we're actively working on.

The reality is that delayed responses are not unique to ZRently. It's a challenge across the entire rental industry. Property managers receive large numbers of inquiries, and not every lead receives a response.

That said, we believe the experience can be improved.

We are constantly looking at ways to increase engagement between renters and property managers, improve lead quality, and help create more conversations that result in successful leases.

Will we ever eliminate the problem completely? Probably not.

Can we make it significantly better? Absolutely, and that's what we're focused on.

Building a Better Experience for Renters

Every week we're making improvements to the platform.

Some updates are small and happen behind the scenes. Others are features renters can see immediately.

One feature we're particularly excited about is reusable rental applications.

Our vision is that renters will eventually be able to complete a single application and use it across participating properties on ZRently. We believe this could save renters both time and money while making the application process much simpler.

We're also continuing to improve our search filters, requirement labels, and overall user experience to make apartment hunting easier.

The Mission Has Not Changed

From day one, our mission has been straightforward.

We want every rental in the United States on ZRently with clear, searchable requirements.

We believe renters should know important information such as credit score requirements, income requirements, co-signer policies, and other qualification standards before they apply.

If we can help renters avoid wasting money on application fees for apartments they don't qualify for, we've accomplished something meaningful.

We Want Your Feedback

One of the best parts of building ZRently has been hearing directly from renters.

If you like the platform, tell us.

If you think something needs improvement, tell us.

If you have an idea that would make apartment searching easier, tell us.

We read our emails. We read our social media messages. We pay attention to feedback.

Many of the improvements we've made have come directly from conversations with renters using the platform every day.

Please Share ZRently

If you believe in what we're building, please share ZRently with your friends and family.

Someone you know is probably looking for an apartment right now.

A simple share could help them find a rental they qualify for and save them from wasting money on application fees.

We're still early in this journey, but we're excited about where things are headed.

Thank you for being part of it.
